Windows 8 Sells 40 Million Upgrades

The next operating system from Microsoft, Windows 8, has passed 40 million upgrade licenses, beating the amount sold for Windows 7. In a blog post today from Microsoft, Tami Reller shared information at the Credit Suisse 2012 Annual Technology Conference.

“The journey is just beginning, but I am pleased to announce today that we have sold 40 million Windows 8 licenses so far”

One such reason, as pointed out by VB, is that the upgrade cost for Windows 8 is currently only $40.
