USB storage for Xbox 360 doubled to 32GB
Among the many features the recent Fall 2012 update brought for the Xbox 360 is a small feature that might have been overlooked by many, but not by a few: doubled USB storage. Instead of the 16GB limit that has been in effect since 2010, Microsoft quietly doubled the flash storage limit to 32GB.
Hoping that this was official and not just an update made in error, Joystiq reached out to a Microsoft representative, who had this to say:
“Yes. The more our customers use their profile and download digital content, the larger the file size necessary to store that content and move it between consoles gets. Therefore we increased the size of the memory to enable our customers to take more of their Xbox profile with them on the go.”
So there you have it, kiddies. You can now use 32GB USB flash drives and carry around all that Battlefield 3 data, because God knows you’ll need all that space for that game.
