“No Federal Action” For 38 Studios

The remnants of the now-dead 38 Studios can breathe a small sigh of relief today, as federal authorities have decided to not press criminal charges on the company at the close of their investigation.

A spokesperson told the Associated Press that “no federal action is planned at this time.”

Despite the federal investigation coming to a close, however, the state police of Rhode Island are continuing their investigation on whether or not the company violated state laws.

This comes on the heels of 38 Studio’s demise earlier this year, after the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning developer fell into financial ruin and defaulted on a $75 million dollar loan. Since then, lawsuits and heartache have followed in the wake, leaving many talented individuals jobless and Curt Schilling answering to politicians and the gaming community as a whole.
