Nintendo TVii Coming To The Wii U

Who needs an expensive touch screen TV remote to enjoy a good streaming app? Not the Wii U! Nintendo announced a new app for the upcoming home console called Nintendo TVii today. The service is headed to North America with zero cost and no monthly fee.

TVii allows users to connect to streaming apps like Netflix and Hulu and also social media websites to share, connect, and view what your friends are watching and favoriting. You can even connect to your DVR to access your provided service.

This sounds really cool and makes the Wii U even more of a media device than just gaming, something that Nintendo has shied away from in the past. The most we got on the Wii was Netflix and Hulu. The Wii U is headed towards 360 territory with all the apps and services included.
