PlayStation Vita Falls Victim to Hacker

Ever the cat-stroking nemesis to Sony’s James Bond, hackers have stricken again, this time focusing on the PlayStation Vita.

It’s been reported that coder and “re-engineer” Yifan Lu has found a way to exploit the Vita’s software to allow for homebrew software creation. He discussed the process in full detail on his blog, citing a weakness he found in the firmware that helped him find a way to hack in.

Sony has had a long struggle with hackers ever since the PSP and eventually the PS3 fell victim to it. If Lu’s claims hold any truth, it seems that the Vita is about to meet trouble from hackers as well.
