Black Ops 2 Will Not Support Windows XP on PC
Attention PC gamers! For those of you looking forward to fragging the hell out of 12 year olds and riding horses in Black Ops 2, you might want to double check your OS. Treyarch has announced the minimum PC specs needed to run the game, and it’s been revealed that Windows XP will not be supported.
The game has been built on an improved version of the original Black Ops engine, including moving to DirectX11 from 9 and features “enhanced lighting, shadows, antialiasing, bloom, depth of field, ambient occlusion, and other enhanced effects that are still in the works.” The game will also run at higher framerate on the PC.
Minimum specs are found below:
- OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7
- CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz or AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHz
- Memory: 2GB for 32-bit OS or 4GB for 64-bit OS
- Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB or ATI Radeon HD 3870 512 MB
Look for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on November 13th.
