Kinect Gets 27% Price Cut

A post on Major Nelson’s blog has revealed that Microsoft is to permanently drop the price of the Kinect motion sensor by more than a quarter to $109.99 from $149.99 or a 27% reduction.

The price cut will take affect in North America, Latin America and the Asia Pacific regions. While the post does not state implicitly that the price cut is immediate retailers such as Amazon have already made the reduction.

From October 4th the price will also be reduced in Australia and New Zealand. The post goes on to say that:

“There are no price drop plans for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Japan.”

The Kinect sensor will continue to be bundled with Kinect Adventures.
