DayZ on Consoles?
It was recently announced that Arma II zombie apocalypse mod DayZ was going standalone after enjoying phenomenal success. And with over 1,000,000 unique players, it’s no surprise to hear the news.
But will it stay a PC exclusive? Developer Dean Hall hopes not, as he shared his thoughts on bringing the game to the console space. Of course, whether or not it comes to consoles will depend entirely on how successful the game is on PC.
“You’re not going to put it on the consoles if you’re only going to sell 100,000 units or something like that. DayZ will be driven by its PC development and it will innovative on that. And, once we’re at a point, we’ll take it and do a Mac version, 360 and PS3.”
Hall cited casually that he and his team were meeting with console developers at this week’s Gamescom. What comes of the meetings has yet to be seen, but it’s an exciting prospect that looks more than promising at this point.
What do you think? Do you want to play DayZ on a console, or does this need to stay as a PC exclusive?
