Assassin’s Creed 3 PC Release Delayed Until November

In a press release today Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed 3 will be released on November 23rd on PC, almost a month after the October 31st launch on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The statement reads: “Today, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed® III for PCs will be available in the UK on November 23, 2012.”

This was later confirmed as the US release date as well. All previous entries in the series have launched on PC some time after console and while no reason has been given it is likely an attempt by Ubisoft to combat piracy.

The press release goes on to describe what PC gamers can eventually expect from the highly anticipated title: “Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Ratohnhakéton, of Native American and English heritage.

“Adopting the name Connor, he becomes the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the Assassins and Templars. Players become an Assassin in the war for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date.”

Assassin’s Creed 3 will also be a Wii U launch title.
