Rock Band Blitz Is Jamming Regular Controllers on August 28th and 29th

I gotta say, after playing Rock Band on phones, tablets, and the PSP, I am excited about Blitz. The button-based gameplay is quick and fun. You don’t have to get out the dusty guitar or drums. You don’t need to plug in a ton of stuff or look for those pesky USB dongles if you’re using a PS3. You just select the game and get jamming.

Harmonix announced that Rock Band Blitx would not only launch with 20 songs on its own but today the music game studio announced four of those tracks as So Far Away by Avenged Sevenfold, Jungle Boogie by Kool & The Gang, Sing by My Chemical Romance, and We Are Young by Fun. They also announced the release date for the button mashing music extravaganza. On the PSN you’ll be able to rock out on August 28th. On the following day, the 29th, you can get it off of the XBLA.

Another fun fact about Blitz is that all of your downloaded Rock Band 3 music will work on it and vice versa. That means you can also export Blitz songs onto Rock Band 3. For $15, that’s a very sizable addition to your song library considering individual songs cost a few dollars on their own.

Here is the official press release from Harmonix.
