Dishonored Release Dates Revealed
With the crushing news earlier this week that Bioshock:Infinite has been forestalled with the release date pushed forward to February 2013, the news today of the Dishonored release dates will raise some eyebrows and cause derision. However, the current ‘set’ release dates for the game are as follows:
- U.S – 9th October 2012
- AUS – 11th October 2012
- EU – 12th October 2012
Don’t put too much hope on these being adhered to vehemently, but at least they give us all a vague idea of when we can our grubby mittens on Dishonored. As someone who resides within the EU, I’ve always been slightly annoyed that release dates can be so varied. I understand some of the legal jargon regarding gaining publishing rights, the importation of the games, and other such redtape – but in the digital era isn’t all of this rendered, if not moot, at least lessened? Why should a certain region in the world gain early access for merely geographic reasons, when gamers just as dedicated across the globe have to sit and wait?
The variety in release dates for Dishonored comes as a surprise to me due to that it’s being published by Bethesda Softworks – the very same company that managed to release TES:Skyrim simultaneously worldwide.
