The Most Addicting Mobile Game You Probably Haven’t Played
Let’s be honest; if you’re reading this, you’re most likely what companies call a “core” gamer; you love games, enough that you go and research them when you’re on the internet. I’d be willing to bet that at some point in your life, you’ve thought about what it would be like to make video games for a living.
Well, like the saying goes, there’s an app for that.
It’s called Game Dev Story, and the developer Kairosoft hasn’t wasted any time in making the game one of the most clever, unique, and fun games on mobile devices.
Game Dev Story tasks you with running your own development studio. You’ll create games from multiple genres and categories, hire employees with different strengths and talents, take on outside contracts for extra cash, and try to get the best review scores and a place on the top 25 releases list as you try to build your fanbase nationwide.
It’s essentially a game development tycoon game, and it has all the depth and strategy you’d ever want from it. You’ll have to carefully examine what type of game you’re building, since your team will get excited for some and be left for wanting on others. Using research points earned during development, you’ll level up and train your employees, helping them recharge and improve their skills. You’ll negotiate new contracts with console makers, study the market, and try to capitalize on the best opportunities both in the industry and with your own staff. Different items allow you to boost elements of your game production, and marketing strategies will be needed if you’re going to build your fan base into the biggest it can become nationwide.
For all its intricacies, Game Dev Story is super accessible and easy to play, having been cleverly optimized for the use of touch controls. And, there are no in-app purchases to rip you off. It is a bit pricey at $3.99, but if you’r tired of getting nickel and dimed to death like every other mobile game seems to do to you and never want to see a slingshot or bird again, then Game Dev Story is well worth every penny.
