Wolfenstein: The New Order Launch Trailer Released
Wolfenstein: The New Order has just gotten a launch trailer. Bethesda Softworks released the three-minute long trailer for the upcoming first-person-shooter on their YouTube channel. The trailer showcases the game’s story, which has series protagonist BJ Blazkowicz teaming up with a small resistance and blasting their way through a 1960s Nazi-controlled Europe.
The trailer, entitled “House of the Rising Sun” sets up the monumental challenge of dethroning the powerful Nazi regime. The trailer reveals that the game’s story will feature several set-pieces though towards the end, the trailer focuses on showing off the gameplay.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is set in an alternate history where Germany won the second World War and has taken over the world. The game’s violent, macabre nature evokes Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds. Wolfenstein: The New Order will be the ninth installment in the Wolfenstein series and the most recent game since 2009. Last month, Machine Games revealed the gameplay diversity in the Stealth vs. Mayhem Trailer.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is being developed by Machines Games, a new studio that’s formed from part of Starbreeze Studio, who developed on The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and The Darkness. Wolfenstein: The New Order is scheduled to release for the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 this Tuesday on May 20.
