I love Nintendo. I have extremely high hopes for them regardless of how much I think they are screwing up. I think they are doing a lot of things right, but I also think they are doing a lot of things wrong. With just a couple of tweaks here and there, I think they could be doing everything right.
R-Type Dimensions PS3 Port Coming May 20
The Playstation Store is going classic this month. David Bruno, the Public Relations Representative of Tozai Games posted on the Playstation Blog today, announcing that R-Type Dimensions will be coming to the Playstation 3 on May 20.
R-Type Dimensions is remastered compilation of R-Type and R-Type II, which were originally released in Arcades in 1987 and 1989 respectively. Since then, R-Type has been ported to many home consoles including the TurboGrafx 16, Sega Master System, Nintendo Game Boy, and Wii Virtual Console.
R-Type Dimensions offers the two games in their original, unaltered form along with the option of remastered 3D graphics and audio. Players can switch between the graphics and audio modes during gameplay at the touch of a button. Unlike the original games, R-Type Dimensions will allow for cooperative play with up to two players.
R-Type is a side-scrolling space shooter in the same genre as Gradius and Space Harrier. In comparison to its competitors, R-Type emphasizes difficulty and strategy. It is considered one of the one of the most difficult games in it’s genre.
R-Type Dimensions has been available on Xbox Live Arcade since 2009.
