Sega CEO Hajime Satomi says he wants to improve the quality of their games moving forward. That could mean a lot of things. It's nice to hear, but what they do next with their games is the real answer.
Lords of the Fallen Dev: ‘1080p’ Tougher On Xbox One
Studio CI Games, which is developing the upcoming current-gen RPG Lords of the Fallen, has stated that achieving a 1080p resolution on Xbox One is “slightly tougher” than doing the same with PlayStation 4.
Executive producer Tomasz Gop, in an interview with IGN, has explained that the studio had to lower the game’s framerate to achieve a full 1080p resolution. Gop also confirmed that Lords of the Fallen will run in 30fps.
“We definitely won’t be below 30fps, definitely,” he said. “I think if we have to choose between resolution and framerate, we’ll probably choose to go full HD 1080p and have a stable, rock-solid 30fps, rather than try to lower the resolution and push it to 60fps because we believe this game looks pretty good, so we’d rather have a decent resolution to show it off.
“We’re working very hard right now to deliver PS4 and Xbox One in 1080p but I can’t confirm whether it’s possible. It’s probably easier for me to confirm it’ll happen for PlayStation 4, because it appears on this one we’re almost nailing it and pretty much there. For Xbox One though, it’s slightly tougher and we’re still working on it, so I can’t confirm that yet.”
The release date for the game has yet to be revealed, but we expect to hear ahead of E3.
