Sega CEO Hajime Satomi says he wants to improve the quality of their games moving forward. That could mean a lot of things. It's nice to hear, but what they do next with their games is the real answer.
Square Enix Gives FF15 Update
Square Enix has finally provided a new update on their long gestating next major entry in the Final Fantasy series, FFXV. According to the company, it’s coming along nicely.
Series producer Yoshinori Kitase told Videogamer that the project is being given “very high priority within the company.”
“We can’t give too much information but certainly looking at Final Fantasy XV, it’s not as if it’s in competition with Kingdom Hearts III for resources or anything like that,” he explained.
“It’s quite far into development now and it is being given a very high priority within the company itself, but that doesn’t mean Kingdom Hearts isn’t.”
Final Fantasy XV was originally announced back in E3 2006, where it was called Final Fantasy Versus 13. The title was supposed to be a PS3 exclusive until Square eventually shifted development to both next-gen systems. Kingdom Heats 3 was finally officially unveiled at E3 2013, but Square has stated several times that the game won’t be complete until creative director Tetsuya Nomura finishes working on FFXV.
No release date has been announced for either title.
