Now that Club Nintendo is closing its doors, it's safe to wonder if this will be the end of the physical reward system. We go over a brief history of some of the rewards granted to gamers from Nintendo Power strategy guides to soundtracks and weigh it against the digitized reward systems.
Nintendo Announces a Price Drop for the Wii U
Nintendo announced today that the Deluxe version of the Wii U will be receiving a price drop starting on September 20th.
Originally slated at $349.99, the Deluxe will drop down to $299.99, saving consumers $50 on their purchase.
The price drop will take effect alongside the release of the long-awaited Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD bundle, which will also sell for the new price of $299.99. Along with an eShop download code for the game itself, the bundle features several perks for Wind Waker fans including a specially-designed Gamepad controller with gold lettering and a download code for the digital version of the Legend of Zelda history and art book Hyrule Historia.
The Wii U originally got off to a somewhat slow start last November and has struggled to find great success within the marketplace ever since. Being that the company has several key titles currently in development for the system, it isn’t necessarily shocking that they’d want to lower the price in order to entice more buyers.
