The game of the week for this week's Retro Weekly is one that is very close to my heart: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Marvel Heroes Hosts an Iron Man 3 Open Beta Weekend
Marvel Heroes will be holding an Iron Man 3 themed Open Beta weekend in honor of the upcoming launch of the blockbuster title. Iron Man 3 will be released in cinemas on May 3rd, and Gazillion Entertainment will be kicking off the Marvel Heroes Iron Man 3 Open Beta Weekend beginning on Friday 3rd May at 7.00PM PDT (3.00AM on May 4th in London). The beta event will continue to run right through until Monday 6th May at 10.ooAM PDT (6.00PM in London), which gives you plenty of time to explore what Marvel Heroes is all about.
Normally players would only be able to select one of a few starting characters for their Starter Hero: Daredevil, Storm, Hawkeye, Thing or Scarlet Witch. However, this special event is switching things around. As part of the Iron Man 3 Open Beta, new players will be able to select an Avenger as their starting hero – including Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America and Black Widow. There will be over 14 different Iron Man armors available in the game spanning the Golden Avengers’ illustrious career in comics and movies (Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, The Avengers).
All you need to be able to participate in the special open beta weekend is an account at MarvelHeroes.com. All you need to do is register a new account and later this week you will be able to download the client and play. It’s incredibly simple – no messing around or fussing with keys. You can watch the latest Marvel Heroes Iron Man teaser trailer below in the build up to the Open Beta.
Marvel Heroes is the “Marvel MMO people have been waiting for”, according to Gazillion Entertainment. It is an action MMORPG for PC set in the heralded Marvel Universe. Players suit up and collect their favorite Marvel characters (including Iron Man, Hulk, Spiderman, Wolverine and many many more) to try and stop Dr. Doom from devastating the world with the power of the Cosmic Cube. Marvel Heroes has a deep leveling system unique to each character, diverse locations from the Marvel Universe, a robust crafting system and much much more. What makes this even better is that Marvel Heroes will be making its free-to-play PC debut on 4th June 2013.
