The “Ultimate” Xbox Live Sale Starts on February 26th

Larry Hryb, AKA MajorNelson, has announced that Xbox Live will be having an “ultimate game sale.” From February 26 through March 4, over 60 games will get huge price cuts. The majority will be up to 75% off with some reaching 85% off. If you any spare Microsoft Points lying around, or needed an excuse to buy some, the upcoming week of sales should be enough to persuade you to spend them. The complete list is as follows:

  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Assassin’s Creed 2
  • Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations
  • Batman: Arkham Asylum
  • Batman: Arkham City
  • Bioshock
  • Borderlands
  • Borderlands 2
  • Call of Juarez
  • Call of Duty 2
  • Call of Duty 3
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
  • Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

  • Call of Duty: World At War
  • Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements
  • Dead Island
  • Dirt 2
  • Dishonored
  • El Shaddai Ascension of the Metatron
  • Fable 3
  • Fallout 3
  • Fallout: New Vegas
  • GRID
  • Halo 3
  • Halo 4
  • Halo Reach
  • Halo Wars
  • Kane & Lynch Dead Men
  • Left 4 Dead 2
  • Max Payne 3
  • Metal Gear Solid HD
  • Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker
  • Mortal Kombat
  • Mortal Kombat vs. DCU
  • Orange Box
  • Portal 2
  • Rainbow Six Vegas

  • Street Fighter X Tekken
  • Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition
  • Tekken 6

  • Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X
  • Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
  • Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
  • Tomb Raider Legend
  • Virtua Fighter 5

I am personally going to check out what the sale prices will be on all of these titles. However, I am surprised that Xbox would put some of their newest and most popular games on sale. Games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Borderlands 2, and Dishonored would not seem to be likely candidates for a sale. Undoubtedly they will not have 75% cuts, but the fact that they are on sale at all is a bit of a shocker. And on a final note, could this be a response to the Playstation 4 announcement? Xbox could possibly be reassuring their fans that they are still the best, or they could be trying to sell as much as possible before they make their own console announcement.
