New Game Releases (February 19, 2013)
It’s Tuesday, and gamers should know what that means (besides World of Warcraft maintenance day): it’s the main day for game releases. Here’s a handful of popular, mainstream titles making their debuts on the market today, February 19, 2013.
Crysis 3 – Crytek, EA Games – PC, PS3, Xbox 360
Crytek continues the Crysis series with its brand new, and highly publicized, sandbox shooter. Crysis 3 takes place in 2047, putting you in the shoes of Prophet, who is looking to get revenge on Cell Corporation for their involvement and motives for the creation of so-called Nanodomes. The game puts you in the New York City Liberty Dome to attempt to save the human race versus both human and alien enemies. Look for it on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance – PlatinumGames, Konami -PS3, Xbox 360
Also releasing today, the newest entrant in the Metal Gear franchise, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance makes its appearance on Xbox and PS3. You take on the role of the infamous Raiden, helping him to carve his place in a world now dominated by cyborg technology by resolving past issues in his life. As the world in ensconced in war, Raiden fights his own. The game releases today for Xbox 360 and PS3, and on PC at a later date. Keep your eyes peeled for a PC release date.
Assassin’s Creed III: The Tyranny of King Washington – The Infamy - Ubisoft Québec, Ubisoft – PC, PS3, Xbox 360
In this expansion on the popular title Assassin’s Creed III, an alternate history has been designed in which George Washington was not a polite and benevolent president, but a ruthless dictator. Your role in this pack is to overthrow the tyrannical “King” Washington by whatever means necessary. The pack is available on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC today. Look for it on your dashboard!
Skyrim: Hearthfire – Bethesda Game Studios, Bethesda Softworks – PS3
The most affordable content on the post today, the excellently valued expansion content for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Hearthfire allows your hero to purchase a plot of land to call their own and, using a workbench and crafting tables, build their own house from the ground up, crafting furniture, framework, walls, and every other aspect necessary to make your house your home. The once useless log mills become that much more important as you use them to craft the wood planks needed for many aspects of construction.
Many other games make their appearance this week, including indie titles and off release games and apps. What game are you most excited to play this week? What about upcoming titles?
