Sega CEO Hajime Satomi says he wants to improve the quality of their games moving forward. That could mean a lot of things. It's nice to hear, but what they do next with their games is the real answer.
New Assassin’s Creed Title Coming in 2014 to Feature A New Character and Time Period
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced today that a new Assassin’s Creed title is in development and is set to release sometime around April 2014.
Along with the projected release date, Guillemot also revealed that the next installment in the series will feature a new protagonist and be set in an entirely different time period, also adding that the game will be “a major leap forward for the franchise.”
We don’t know who exactly is behind it, but the Ubisoft CEO also hinted that the game was in the hands of a new development team for this next installment in the Assassin’s Creed series.
Assassin’s Creed III was the most recent release in the series and managed to sell a whopping 12 million copies, all while being met with lukewarm critical reception. With those numbers, it’s no surprise that Ubisoft is looking to capitalize on the success of Assassin’s Creed by putting another installment in the works.
