Sony: “No Definitive Plans” For Resistance Series
Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that the Resistance franchise is over.
Says SCE Europe Online Producer Daniel Brooke, “The Resistance franchise has been exciting to work on, but as for the future we have no definitive plans.”
The series has seen five installments, totaling three on the PS3, and one on both PSP and the PS Vita, and has become one of the most popular PlayStation exclusives on the market.
If the series does make a comeback in the future, it won’t be developed by Insomniac, the studio that handled all but the latest Resistance: Burning Skies. In January of this year, Insomniac head Ted Price cited that they were done with the series, having “reached its logical conclusion in terms of the story that we wanted to tell”.
We’ll miss the adventures of human vs. Chimera, but here’s to the legacy that the game left behind.
