Sega CEO Hajime Satomi says he wants to improve the quality of their games moving forward. That could mean a lot of things. It's nice to hear, but what they do next with their games is the real answer.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 Is Getting Co-Op & Coin Rush
At Nintendo’s 3DS press event they just announced two new modes for the gold plated New Super Mario Bros. 2 and one is co-op. Mario and Luigi will be able to tackle the entire campaign together in Campaign Co-Op. This has not been done since the first Super Mario Bros. game on the NES.
Also, the game will feature brand new StressPass competition in Coin Rush which has Mario trying to collect as many coins are possible in three selected stages that you’ve already completed in the campaign. The trick is to collect as many as possible in the fastest time. The levels aren’t exactly as they are in the campaign with subtle differences to try and throw you off with the highest rewards collectible to those who manage to keep up the pace and not miss jumps.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 will have you seeing gold on August 19th, 2012.
