The fourth season of Community has thus far been a disappointment, to say the least. Eager fans like myself were still hopeful that the series would continue in its quirky glory following the ousting of showrunner Dan Harmon, but our hopes have been dashed, and last week’s episode was just as disappointingly mediocre as the previous ones have been.

“Paranormal Parentage” is one of the most tangible examples of how Community’s fourth season hasn’t exactly gotten star treatment from NBC. This Halloween episode, pushed back to mid-February by the network, unfortunately has problems that do not stop with its odd, yet unavoidable timing.
The recent fall of THQ from relative prosperity to Chapter 11 bankruptcy and an eventual liquidation of all assets shocked the gaming industry; THQ is the first major gaming publisher to collapse in years. Yet, when looking back at the publisher’s recent history one can see signs of bad things to come.
