Meet Telltale’s New Marvel Game: Guardians Of The Galaxy
Get ready to be hooked on a feeling all over again, because the identity of Telltale’s secret Marvel project has been revealed courtesy of the voice-actor’s strike. The latest Telltale project will be based on Guardian’s of the Galaxy (which gives us the perfect excuse to make those Groot puns all over again!)
Originally announced in 2015 for a 2017 release, the secret Marvel project was released in a list of games affected by the SAG-AFTRA strike to negotiate better wages across the industry. The project, registered under O’Farrell Enterprises, LLC, was listed alongside the third season of Telltale’s popular Walking Dead game series, and can be seen on the image below (courtesy of comicbookmovie.com).
At the moment both Marvel and Telltale have been pretty hush-hush about game details, so it’s unclear whether the game will tie in with the comic book universe or the cinematic universe, but with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 set to release in May 2017, it’s a perfect time to release it. The only thing we do know is that the working title, “Blue Harvest”, is an alias that references the working title for Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
Telltale have already worked their narrative magic on some extremely popular franchises including Batman, Minecraft and Borderlands, so I’m personally looking forward to what they come up with for Star Lord and co. We’ll keep you updated with any new information.
