Square Enix's decision to split Final Fantasy VII Remake into multiple installments may harm the game for one big reason.
Doom 4 Beta Will Be Playable On Xbox One, PS4, and PC
Nearly two months ago Bethesda indirectly announced the existence of Doom 4 in the latest trailer for Wolfenstein: The New Order. The company has now confirmed, not to anyone’s surprise, that the beta for the long-gestating title will only be hitting both current-gen consoles and PCs.
Players can access the beta by preordering Wolfenstein: The New Order. But for those who preorder either the Xbox 360, or PS3 versions of the game, they’ll still gain access to the Xbox One and/or PS4 beta.
“DOOM beta access correlates to your pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order platform,” says Bethesda while also confirming that the Xbox One beta requires Xbox Live Gold while the PS4 will not require PlayStation Plus.
“If you purchase an Xbox 360 or Xbox One version of Wolfenstein: The New Order, you will receive an invitation to the Xbox One Doom beta. PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 purchasers will receive an invite to the PS4 Doom beta.”
“All PC purchases will receive an invite to the PC Doom beta.”
Since the game’s reveal, Bethesda hasn’t shared any further details. At the time Bethesda marketing man Pete Hines said that the reason for the game’s long development cycle was because ”An earlier version of Doom 4 did not exhibit the quality and excitement that id and Bethesda intend to deliver and that Doom fans worldwide expect.”
“As a result, id refocused its efforts on a new version of Doom 4 that promises to meet the very high expectations everyone has for this game and this franchise. When we’re ready to talk about the Doom 4 id is making, we will let folks know.”
