Sometimes it's fun to revisit some old last gen titles that may have been forgotten. This list consists of a few that I still enjoy today.
Zelda Producers Thoughts on Remaking Majora’s Mask: “Ha-ha-ha”
In an interview at IGN with Nintendo’s Eiji Aonuma, he laughed in response to fans asking about a Majora’s Mask remake, hoping to leave it open to interpretation.
He said, “Please write that I laughed. Don’t make it sound like I laughed because I was troubled or inconvenienced or put out. I don’t want them to read anything into it. But if you want to say that I laughed, I think that would be a good answer.”
IGN then pressed him about how fans should conceive that answer, he replied with, “It’s really up to them. If they want to interpret my laughter as, ‘yeah, we’re making it’ or ‘no, we’re not,’ I guess that’s really up to them.”
In case you didn’t know, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask was the follow-up to hit N64 title The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It came out in 2000 and then re-released on the Wii’s Virtual Console in 2009. The Ocarina of Time was remade for the 3DS in 2011, so that’s why fans are pressing for answers towards a remake of Majora’s Mask.
As for the this interview, that response has to be one of my favourites of all time. When reading about it myself, I actually laughed too. It’s a funny situation, as they know we want it remade and to experience that fantastic world all over again, but they don’t want to spill all the beans. In my personal opinion (which doesn’t confirm anything at all), I think they’re working on it. It will just take some time. Be patient Zelda fans.
