Don't let the promise of a new Zelda game distract you from everything else the switch has to offer. Here's why you should be just as interested in Arms.
Shiny Legendary Pokemon Available At Participating GameStop Locations
In honor of the upcoming release of Pokemon X and Y, The Pokemon Company has teamed up with GameStop for a unique promotion. Starting on August 19th, players with a copy of Pokemon Black, Pokemon White, Pokemon Black 2, or Pokemon White 2 can bring their game and DS or 3DS to participating GameStop stores and download the legendary Pokemon Dialga, one of the legendary Pokemon from the fourth generation of Pokemon games. Then, from September 9th until the 29th, you can acquire the legendary Palkia in the same way. Finally, starting on September 30th and ending on October 20th, fans can go through the same steps to acquire a Giratina, the third legendary from the Sinnoh region.
While these Pokemon are enticing and rare in their own ways, The Pokemon Company has increased their rarity. All three of these Pokemon that you can acquire through participating GameStop locations are in their shiny form. Every Pokemon has a shiny form, and while you can encounter them in the wild just like any other Pokemon, Shiny Pokemon only have a 1/8192 chance of appearing. Because of their extreme rarity, most players have never even seen one let alone captured one, making this opportunity extremely valuable to all Pokemon players.
Also of note is the final date that Giratina is available, October 20th. As I am sure every Pokemon fan knows, this is more than a week after the sixth generation of Pokemon begins with Pokemon X and Y. The promotion does not list Pokemon X and Y as game carts that you can use to acquire Giratina, so fans will have to take a break from X and Y and pop in an older game cart in order to acquire the Shiny Giratina anytime after October 12th. Nonetheless, this offer is extremely enticing for Pokemon fans of all ages, as these three legendary Pokemon are some of the strongest you can acquire in the fourth generation of games. Plus, players that want to complete the increasingly massive Pokedex will find this promotion as an easier way to acquire these three legendary Pokemon without owning all three generation IV games.[Source: Pokemon.com]
