Sometimes it's fun to revisit some old last gen titles that may have been forgotten. This list consists of a few that I still enjoy today.
GAME Host Exclusive Hands On For The Last Of Us
GAME have partnered with PlayStation to offer an exclusive lock-in preview event for The Last of Us. This is the biggest lock-in series event of all time, with 75 stores opening late to give gamers an early sneak peek. This takes place weeks before The Last of Us is officially released, between 3rd May and 9th June 2013.
What’s more, as well as getting the chance to play the post-apocalyptic game weeks early, all of the attendees will be given food and refreshments to keep them nourished. Customers can also pick up a double-sided The Last of Us poster if they choose to pre-order the game at the event. If you’ve already pre-ordered your copy then don’t worry – you can pick up your own poster by simply bringing your receipt.
To register for the event you need to visit the nearest participating store (the list of all 75 participating stores can be found at the GAME Store Event website), or you can either contact them by phone or send them a tweet. Please remember that places are limited on a first-come-first-served basis, and anyone attending must be over 18 years old.
The Last of Us, developed by Naughty Dog, tells the story of Joel, a survivor of the cordyceps virus. This infection plunged the USA into a post-apocalyptic hell, filled with a manner of monstrous infected and crazy survivors. Joel is transporting a precious cargo in the form of a little girl named Ellie across America, leaving the relative safety of the quarantine zone far behind. The Last of Us features a gripping, emotion-filled story and brand new online multiplayer experience.
As well as this exclusive lock-in event, GAME are offering customers the exclusive Ellie Edition, which is available at no other retailer. This special edition features a canvas wrap, a mini artbook and comic, a screen print effect poster, a bonus blu-ray disc, an Ellie DualShock 3 controller skin, a LittleBigPlanet Ellie Sackboy keyring and exclusive digital content, including the Sights and Sounds pack with dynamic theme, a digital soundtrack and 2 Playstation Network avatars. It also includes a Survival Pack which provides bonus XP, special customisable items for multiplayer and a pool of in-game currency. You can purchase this edition for £54.99 online.
The Last of Us looks set to be an emotional and epic survival, so I would really recommend trying to make it to one of these lock-in events.
