Papo & Yo Developer Reveals Silent Enemy, a New Game Tackling the Subject of Childhood Bullying
Developer Minority Media, the studio behind the PSN title Papo & Yo, has officially announced their upcoming game. Titled Silent Enemy, the game is set to tackle one of the most pervasive and sensitive subjects in the world today: childhood bullying.
According to the studio’s co-founder Vander Caballero, the team had originally started development on a survival hunting game on iOS as their follow-up to 2012’s Papo & Yo. But after deliberations within the studio, it was decided to approach the project from a different angle and attempt to create an experience centered around the emotional effects of childhood bullying.
The idea of using an emotionally-charged subject such as childhood bullying is not new to the crew at Minority Media, as Papo & Yo’s premise served as a metaphor for Caballero’s youth growing up in a home with an alcoholic father. The team felt that using childhood bullying as a backdrop for Silent Enemy would connect with players, as being bullied is unfortunately something many can relate to.
Silent Enemy is being developed for the Ouya console and is set to be released later this year. Keep it locked here for more developments on the game as they roll out.
