Sometimes it's fun to revisit some old last gen titles that may have been forgotten. This list consists of a few that I still enjoy today.
Slender: The Arrival – Get Instant Beta Access Now
Just last summer we were graced with the free, indie first-person survival horror game known as Slender: The Eight Pages (check out our review here). The original game was developed and published by Parsec Productions as an experiment based on the mythos surrounding the elusive “Slender Man”, which required the player to collect 8 notebook pages while trying to avoid his grasp. Collecting all 8 pages unlocked new, hilarious modes, although it was a difficult task to accomplish. Slender Man terrified many gamers, including myself, to the point where I was forced to purchase an entire new set of pants after extensive hours of trying to collect all pages.
Unfortunately for you soilers of undergarments out there, Slender Man is back and scarier than ever in a new sequel to the original, titled Slender: The Arrival. The game returns to the same, eerie forest and even introduces new levels of unique, varied gameplay and storyline along with enhanced visuals. Granted that Slender: The Eight Pages was a free title, The Arrival will have a final retail price of $10, but you are able to pre-order now and receive both the final game and instant access to the pre-release beta for only $5. For those of you who want to enjoy the full experience, available for purchase are:
Soundtrack Edition ($15)
- Beta access, a downloadable copy of both the game and soundtrack on release day
Special Edition ($25)
- Soundtrack Edition + 5 downloadable, high-resolution paintings from the game
Producer’s Edition ($50)
- Special Edition + a very special thank you with your name in the game’s credits alongside the developers
Slender: The Arrival is being developed by Blue Isle Studios and Parsec Productions, with an official release date of March 26, 2013.
