Square Enix's decision to split Final Fantasy VII Remake into multiple installments may harm the game for one big reason.
Assassin’s Creed III DLC ‘Tyranny of George Washington’ Coming Out February 19
Ubisoft has teased its DLC involving a tyrannical George Washington long before Assassin’s Creed III actually came out, but now the DLC finally has a release date. The first part of its three part expansion pack will be available to download on the Xbox 360, Ps3, and PC on February 19th, and will cost $10. Ubisoft has stated that all DLC for Assassin’s Creed III will eventually hit the Wii U version, but no timetable has been set. For those who have bought the 30$ season pass, this content will be free.
The first chapter, titled The Infamy, has Connor awakening from a dream only to find that George Washington has been crowned as the new king. This sounds like a fun, goofy little twist on American history that hopefully lightens some of the serious tone that Assassin’s Creed III was bogged down with.
I think side stories like this serve as better content for DLC. This way, people who love the universe and the gameplay can continue playing the game, but other players who aren’t as enamored won’t miss out on crucial story bits. Too many times has a developer left a critical piece of the plot in DLC, forcing players to buy extra content to experience the whole story. I’m looking at you Mass Effect 3 and Asura’s Wrath.
